About Us
Dick's Story
Dick grew up working with wood from a very early age. Mentored by his uncle, who was a carpenter by trade, Dick's interest in woodworking and furniture making blossomed as he grew into adulthood. This avocation had many starts and stops along the way as he raised three children and pursued a career as a Professional Civil Engineer. He started commercially selling his work out of his garage workshop back in 1989 and participated in numerous exhibit venues. With so many balls to juggle, and such a limited space in which to work, Dick eventually felt that it may be time to take a little sabbatical. It was at this time that he, along with his wife Dody, decided to devote some of their free time to another of their passions - hiking and outdoor nature photography.
However, soon after his retirement from his engineering profession, the temptation to get back in the workshop kept pulling at him, and the urge was too hard to resist. Now that he was finally able to devote more time to his love for woodworking - Dick built himself a new workshop. Much of the time these days, Dick can now be found in his woodworking shop where he designs and fabricates unique furniture and timeless pieces of art for all to enjoy.
In the past, Dick's hand crafted custom woodworking has been represented by several galleries, he has participated in numerous exhibits, and has been the recipient of many awards for his creativity as can be seen below.
